The interdisciplinary Master’s program in Political, Economic and Legal Philosophy (PELP) focuses on problems of practical philosophy with regard to the relationship between normative theory and political-economic practice. Examining economic and political-legal problems, institutions, procedures and social behavior exclusively with methods of political or economic and social sciences results in an incomplete and distorted picture of the diverse social phenomena, as these are interdependent and can only be interpreted and regulated appropriately on the basis of their normative implications. The Master’s degree program enables students to use methods of political, legal, economic and social sciences in developing well-founded, normatively oriented problem-solving strategies. This interdisciplinary Master’s degree–also offered part-time basis–is characterized by a strong inter- and transdisciplinary approach and combines theoretical and applied areas from all participating disciplines. The seminar and course times are designed to facilitate part-time study.
