Summerschool

A summer school, as part of the Master Program PELP, is being organized nearly every year, providing a platform for discussing interdisciplinary topics on a high intellectual level and in a casual surrounding. Normally held as a block seminar in collaboration with colleagues from other universities, the event brings together lecturers and students from different backgrounds and different countries. The Summer School addresses complex issues and tries to analyze them in a focused format and in small groups.

The first Summer School took place in Dubrovnik in 2013. It was organized together with professors from Graz and the University of Zagreb, Croatia. This event was followed in 2015 by a seminar in Graz, held in collaboration colleagues from the University of Tübingen, Germany. The 2016 Summer School took place in cooperation with colleagues and students from the University of Bern, Switzerland, and the University of Bochum, Germany, to discuss issues concerning “Poverty, Climate, and Migration”.

The Summer School is now well established as a means to connect scientists and students from different universities and countries to work together. The Summer School can be credited as a course for students from the University of Graz.
